Ensure the Shipping & Receiving Associate understands the essential duties, responsibilities and expectations required from management while they are on duty.  It is the expectation that everyone on the Shipping/Receiving team receives training and understands all aspects of SQF, lean, and all other job duties in shipping & receiving and performs all duties necessary to keep the department running at optimum efficiency. 


  • Ensure shipping and receiving needs are met with regards to quality, GMP’s, SQF and safety. 
  • Be able to perform all duties assigned to the role as a back-up shipping associate as needed.
  • Ensure that you are able to load trucks with correct product, correct quantities as indicated on the warehouse sheet.  Understand the correct loading format for every load and be able to follow that format for every load.
  • Ensure that you follow the SOP for processing each load in NAV which includes scanning all barcodes, having correct quantities on truck to match BOL, correct lot codes on BOL, and quality audit completed. A photo taken of every completed load, temp recorded for every frozen/ refrigerated load and all trucks.
  • Unload trucks as needed and ensure that all necessary paperwork is filled out properly and processed as required.  This will entail learning to scan in all items making sure the correct quantities match the packing list and processing the paperwork in Nav.
  • Ensure that all drivers follow all dock procedures and policies as posted and must follow the procedures whenever loading or unloading.
  • Ensure that every trailer is checked for cleanliness along with correct temp of trailer is established prior to loading the trailer.
  • Ensure that date tags are applied to each ingredient pallet to the front and back according to the established quality assurance requirements.
  • Maintain proper storage and organization of all palletized product for the freezer and cooler.
  • Ensure that all pallets are stacked properly and wrapped and place into the freezer or cooler daily for all lines and anything in the freezer or the cooler during the shift and all stacked/wrapped and orderly by end of shift.
  • Ensure any materials that are torn or damaged is disposed of and disposition paper work completed and turn into shipping office.
  • Ensure that stock rotation is followed for all loads-FIFO- must ensure that older product is always stored, loaded and shipped first.
  • Ensure you are able to lift up to 50 lbs., and occasionally up to 80 lbs.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment each day.
  • Ensure you have excellent attendance.
  • Ensure the cooler/freezer/dock area is clean, orderly and organized at all times.
  • Ensure flexibility to work weekends and when called in as needed.
  • Ensure physical stamina to be able to walk around all areas of the floor.
  • Obtain safety fork & scissor lift traing through A&K.
  • Adhere to all policies and rules listed in the employee handbook.
